the day after
no school today which is good cos im not really feelin that well. not sure if im goin to the freshmen bash at MOS tonite. yesterday decided to jus stay home and have a quiet 21st, didnt go to zouk or anywhere in the end cos i didnt really feel like it. have promised some ppl to go tmr or sat cos they seem desperate to get me drunk. haha. seriously, if u guys wanna get me drunk on moet thats fine but please no AKs or what shit please.
i cant wait till the hols in dec, im alr tired of sch. its fun but theres just so much readings to do and i cbf. most likely goin to tokyo wit mark and daniel in late dec which will be cool esp since its winter. hope to see HG there. haha. and my mum insists we take a family holiday for like 3 weeks so yeah i wanna wear all my warm clothing again.
i opened the remainder of my presents yesterday. they r all very nice. this is the first time i didnt get any presents i didnt like so thanks everybody.. the dinner was gr8.

21st at Greenwood

had my 21st birthday dinner last nite at Greenwood. i had a great time and i felt so much love from all around. It was a fantastic feeling having all the people i love be in the same room for once. I'm kinda sad that i couldn't invite everyone though cos tho we booked the whole restaurant we only had room for 60. oh well, some other time ya. Anyways i hope everyone had fun and i hope i mingled with everyone well enough, it was kinda stressful at first, havin to ensure that i made my rounds but eventually i just placed myself amongst the 2 tables of friends.
i was kinda surprised actually... i didnt expect a small prayer and worship session which was really touching to hear my good friend shaun singing. i think everyone felt a calm presence in the place actually. it was also nice to have a few people come up and say nice stuff about me. G really worried me at first but he kept his promise and was damn well behaved. Ann got saboed to go up and take the mic. haha. she was so nervous. but thanks guys! it was cool. And Tania was gracious enough to host the Benjamin Quiz where most of the questions about me were answered by my old friends. haha. and G, my fave colour is orange lah!
It was also nice having my Godma Jess fly back specially from Hong Kong and to see some friends i haven't met up in a long time like Dan (my travel buddy), Jerald, who was also there at my 12th birthday which was 9 yrs ago. haha and Miss Lorraine Lai who still cracks me up as usual. I was just overwhelmed by everything i sorta forgot to give my speech!!! darn it. but this will be one of the nites i will never ever forget. thanks mum & dad for a great party and thanks everyone for bein a part of my life. i love u all!

birthday weekend

just woke up from the best sleep ever. 12 hrs man! so school started on tues... i had financial accounting and business law. both were alrite tho i spent most of the time on msn during class. the girls are lookin pretty good. cos i have different ppl in all my 5 courses i get to meet more of them.. wahahhaha! gordon's not too pleased tho cos he hasn't had a fair share in his. but overall school's been fun. the ppl are friendly and so r the professors. the best thing has really gotta be that im rite smack in the centre of town, like from the glassed corridors i can look at wats happening along orchard road, its really a pretty cool feeling. ok but theres one thing about uni that i dont like..its the freakin compulsory class participation which makes up about 20% of the exam grade..FUCK! and i never ever participated in all my years of school before so im pretty screwed, add on the fact that i have to do solo presentations which also account for more marks.. not lookin good at the moment.
yeah anyways i was really buggered last nite i have no idea why. caught up wit mark which was cool, he filled me in on the happenings of the rest of the ACS guys. good to know what everyones been upto. This weekend is gonna be quite nuts. my friends r forcing me to go clubbing and stuff cos my birthday is on 30th (rite not yuey?). This sunday is my birthday dinner at Greenwood, theres gonna be about 60 friends and relatives. i feel sorta bad cos i cant invite everyone since the restaurant we booked only has a capacity of 60... so i hope ppl dont kill me for that. i think im gonna go out wit tang and gang to celebrate our birthdays too on one of the days cos his is on 27th. then next tuesday, goin out wit ann and steph and a few others to sorta countdown..haha. i bought this freaking cool bling bling chain necklace which comes attached wit a birthday boy shotglass. so ppl sorta like pour drinks into it and force the bday boy to down it..pretty cool.. then wed on my actual birthday gonna have dinner wit my family and my aunty carol whos coming in from sydney on that day wit my baby godson thaddeus! woohoo!!! then after dinner its mambo nite wit mark and the AC gang and friday goin again...oh man. im sorta excited and worried thinking bout the whole line up at once. its like some freakin carnival or something. oh well, we're only 21 once and the last time i had a party was when i was 12 so since i spent the last few years in semi-seclusion i sorta wanna make up for the lost time and have fun. oh did i forget to mention that when yuey comes back in sep we're gonna have a combined house party too...im gonna set up a bar counter in club yuey and serve drinks. now that sounds cool!

what da funk?!

had a good day today. the past few weeks have been great! everything seems to be getting in order. well, aside from having the flu last week which was shit. for once i feel im up to date wit uni. today i attended BOTH lectures, inc. da 9am which is a killa, then spent a couple of hours in the library balancing some accounting stuff which thankfully i did without too much hassle. then went to da gym. came home and did my commercial law tute. doesn't sound like a very interesting day but it jus feels good accomplishing everything that i set out to do today. how often do we wake up and set ourselves goals. ie. a) go for a run, b) xxx errands, c) finish an assignment - then end up doin 1 or 0 out of 3?? well...today i did everything!!! HOHOHO. and it feels good.
gradually working out how to organise myself which is a great help. managed to have a good weekend, spent lots of quality time wit wai yan which we have lacked da past few weekends with all the dinners, parties etc. saturday we went down to semaphore beach where my dad used to work when i was a kid. about 45 mins drive from my place. went to da old fish n chips shop dat i used to frequent maybe 10 years ago..and im happy to say da food is exactly da same! i swear they r da best chips in adelaide, if not da world. da guys get up every morning and freshly chop da potatoes and make their own chips. how many places do dat these days?? NONE! so yeah, a bit of nostalgia there and i was happy to show wai yan a bit of my childhood. we both had a good feed for under 10 bucks. good value, too! went to nu's thai for dinner afterwards, with wai yan, but yeah...dun reli feel like writing abt da rest, da whole day was jus a big date and nits boring to read abt neways!
tomorrow shaun and i goin scouting for venues for our party. found a pretty decent place called the banque http://www.thebanque.com.au/home.html so yeah, will check dat out tomorrow.
tomorrow gotta pick up till have one working deck at home (da other is at da shop) and i was jus blasting all my fave tunes today while i was doin my homework. DAMN!!! it felt good!!! i still get dis shiver and goosebumps hearing those songs, been so long since ive had a good mixing session...bout 6 months!. hopefully by dis weekend everything will be good to go and i can get back 2 da other love of m life...heh.
oh...i reliased i didnt' write anything about my birthday. yup, i turned 21 on aug 13th! aug 12th i had my frens out for dinner at gauchos then we went to savvy which is basically da best house joint in adelaide. awesome nite out! da drinks were flowing, da food was great and everyone had a good time. good to spend my bday wit a small group of my best frens (well it swelled to 20+ eventually) instead of a bigass party. can see pics on frenster too lazy to post here...
well time to go to bed...got another 9am lecture tomorrow...peace...dj yuey

YO!!! i'm super duper happy/sad now. happy for me dat tho i hv problems and weird phases, life is sorta good. but at the same time im sad dat there r ppl suffering out there n im not able to do much about it yet. just had literature student wit my student and i did a piece of poetry which subject matter was poverty and homelessness in india. it was sad reading it. then i taught him geography and we were like looking at figures of infant mortality rate, life expectancy etc...u know ppl in botswana have an ave life expectancy of just 30 yrs? and here i m fussing bout the freakin nitty gritties of my fucking party. its stupid. made me realise life is so much more. we're living in little shells of luxury and protection, maybe i shld do sth crazy like sky diving or sth.
i miss receiving letters from the kids i used to help out at worldvision africa. this girl, swazi, made me a heart shape woven from sticks. it was real nice...anyways im listening to gabrielle's "out of reach" and "sunshine" now. her voice is so soothing and relaxing, makes me feel happy. then i look at my pics on my com of my adorable godson who just called me from sydney asking me to "buy for me thomas. ive been a good boy" (the train set) and then i get reminded of tan yu kwang who does the same and i think of his stupid antics and i laugh...i think of the trip and memories wit the fab 5 and its all good. then i think of wai yan wearing my mums SIA uniform and its funny. hey, she attracted lots of guys wit that hot slit man...then i start enjoying the brownie wit ice cream my sis made for me and i feel contented. this is the calmest ive felt in a while. like theres no worrying, no depression. i think of my godma and some relatives who r flying back to s'pore just to celebrate my bday. i feel touched. then i think of what my friend says, he says he trusts me dats y he tells me alot of stuff. dat makes me happy to know ppl trust u...my clothes for tmr have been ironed by my mum. she didnt nag MUCH today. dat makes me happy too...

YO!!! i'm super duper happy/sad now. happy for me dat tho i hv problems and weird phases, life is sorta good. but at the same time im sad dat there r ppl suffering out there n im not able to do much about it yet. just had literature student wit my student and i did a piece of poetry which subject matter was poverty and homelessness in india. it was sad reading it. then i taught him geography and we were like looking at figures of infant mortality rate, life expectancy etc...u know ppl in botswana have an ave life expectancy of just 30 yrs? and here i m fussing bout the freakin nitty gritties of my fucking party. its stupid. made me realise life is so much more. we're living in little shells of luxury and protection, maybe i shld do sth crazy like sky diving or sth.

im bringin' sexxxyBACK!!
man, i love having fridays off. its effectively a 4 day work week, and after 2 years of army where it was 5 days plus lots of weekends, this 4 day week is a Godsend.
time alone to reflect on stuff has been at a premium the last 6 weeks or so. it jus feels like life has flown by so fast. feels like yesterday i was preparing for exams...that was mid-june! then the holidays came..singapore..sydney..melbourne etc. and been back at sch for 4 weeks now. theres always some reading to be done...tute papers to do...a workshop to attend...jus haven't got time to breathe anymore... uni, on top of socialising and what have you...spending time wit my darling princess wai yan (kisses babe!)...jus havent had much time to myself, and it takes its toll.. hell, da xbox360 hasnt had a decent workout for about a month!!
allocating time to switch off IS important. i remember when i was a kid...i used to plan my life so meticulously with a little timetable. of course, back then life was blooody easy. between 6-7pm everyday i wrote 'walk around' on my timetable. that is, i used to walk around my house and do nothing..disturb my mum..re-arrange my books...look at my sega genesis games..jus time to do nothing. nowadays there isn't time for that. well, i COULD just waste an houe or 2 everyday to do nothing, but its not the same. when i do that now, i always have work on da back of my mind and i feel guilty.
the economists out there know all about opportunity cost, and it seems nowadays everything has an opportunity cost. maybe i put too much pressure on my studies...but i guess im jus some sort of perfectionist...or wannabe perfectionist at least. i dont know how people can pay thousands of dollars to go to uni and not even try. i jus always feel like i can do better, and i get super pissed off if i dont do as well as i think i should. i guess thats why i feel stressed out all da time.. i should probably learn to chill out...
this morning when i was at the bus stop eating my sandwich an elderly couple approached me and asked 'is that a late breakfast or early lunch?' haha. nice to have a city full of friendly citizens ready for a chat. anyway, we got da talkin and inevitably they asked me what i was studying...blah blah blah uni uni uni talk. then they told me 'enjoy ur life now...while its still fun. its all downhill from here'. great! but they have a point i guess. now i think life is tough..but one day im gonna have to pay bills...provide for a family...and actually pay my own car registration! life is bloody easy now! who am i to complain about the stresses of life when i was off at savvy getting smashed last saturday..meh...this post has been sounding sorta negative huh? and it has completely NOTHING to do wit da title. hahaha. well...it sounds worse than it is. everything is generally awesome..haha, but these thoughts just linger... hmm..well...in the spirit of brotherhood..lets jus play CRAPS!!!!

i finally collected my IC today. woohoo!!! the past 26mths have been an amazing experience on the whole. the best part is the friends dat i made. too many to mention. i'll remember the days where i was workin in the officer mess in tekong and we wld go crabbing at nite by the sea, bbq the crabs then come back for ktv..and also arranging wit jarrod to sneak out to play tennis at 11.30am and getting caught and screwed by ism. haha.. many other stuff too like pestering yuey while he was doin his work...army changed me, the ppl i met changed me and i think part of the change was essential.
school's startin soon.. on the 21st. i'm really excited. i know im gonna do well by God's grace and i'll be a big time banker or some CFO in da future...wahahha... spent some time lookin at the pics of my classmates online. yuey spent like almost an hr there. haha. analyzing them and eventually giving the girls a thumbs up tho me and g beg to differ. hopefully i get to be friends wit some nice genuine ppl. i know some suckers in sch who only wanna network and like build contacts, thats quite gay if dats what friendship is all about... just chill and take it easy. make real friends.
my birthday plans r still pretty tentative. dunno whether to go on wit the dinner or not? i have booked my aunt's restaurant at Greenwood for bout 70 ppl but my grandaunt had a stroke and is still recovering. i'll see how it goes before making further plans. initially i wanted sth bigger but i guess its not quite nice to do dat...will save the getting drunk as shit for the combined party in sep. yeah man!!! everyone's invited!
tmr's hed kandi. i wanna go...but how come no one seems to wanna go to hed kandi but ppl wanna go to mambo on weds? i dont geddit. im not a house expert but isnt it the best kind of music around...and hed kandi rocks. rite wai yan? and where on earth is steph??? r u still in thailand? im sure the kids at the community project ur at wld forgive u if u came back for hed kandi...oh well. looks like i'll have to give this mths one a miss and wait for the next one.

an incredibly ordinary post
another week od school down! eh. getting harder and harder to keep up. its nearly week 4 and im still in holiday mood...wat to do!!?! since da holidays i jus have this feeling that life is so much more than sch. like, does it reli matter if u pass wit a credit or HD? ill still get a job at da end of da day..blah.
bored today. got no plans on a friday for da first time in abt a year and it sucks! well i WAS planning to do some study since i wont be doing much work over the weekend but cbf la. will end up playing xbox360 HOOOO!!!!! played winning eleven all afternoon at daves house. da bugger beat me 2 out of da first 3 games, wit da other being a draw, but i found some form and finished da last 5 games WWWDW so all good. it sucks losing tho. last time i was untouchable at winning eleven but since my ps2 has been broken for the best part of a year, i havent played at all while everyone else has been practising non-stop! gotta fix my ps2 and get back on top of da pile....i take winning eleven quite seriously which is quite sad i know...but hey...it sucks to drop from being untouchable to losing now and then!
last nite went to kenji wit my mum, wai yan and shauns family. they took me out for bday dinner which was nice. da food was pretty good. its all jap/western fusion which was quite unique. i had some lamb with potato gratin and yoghurt. actually there wasn't much japanese about it at all..haha! but there was sushi and stuff for entrees. overall quite a pleasant evening...to sound like a 50 year old!
Tomorrow got dinner at gauchos wit my frens for my birthday. shd be good, gauchos is my all time fave place to eat in da world. nothin like a good argentinian steak wit spicy sauce. afta dat we're going clubbign at heaven, which has been close for about a year since there were some drug problems. hopefully heaven goes off!!! not often in adelaide i go out and get smashed completely and listen to some good house. good to see most of my frens at once as well. these days we're all separated and dun get to see them all as a group dat often.
eh...well dats abt it. today was a boring day. no classes so woke up late, went to da uni gym then met wai yan for lunch. played winning eleven and now im back at home. gonna do my tutes now...peace out!
